This Christmas, thousands of domestic abuse survivors will move into empty, unfurnished homes with bare walls amid colder nights. Help fill their homes and their hearts with hope.
For most survivors, the real battle begins after. Their new social housing is often a shell: no flooring, no cooker, no beds for their children. They’re trying to rebuild from nothing, emotionally, financially, and mentally, at the hardest time of year.
With recent cuts to public services, survivors are being left behind. Many were financially controlled or forced to leave their jobs. Others struggle with trauma that makes returning to work difficult.
This Christmas, your support could mean the difference between an empty home and a fresh start.

98% of social housing that domestic abuse survivors move into after leaving refuges is unfurnished, with no flooring, basic appliances or furniture.
Financial abuse often leaves them with debts, no savings and lost confidence. The new budget offers no relief for those starting again from nothing.
The pressure to create a 'normal' festive season – to buy gifts and festive food - becomes unbearable when there’s barely enough for heating.
