Healing from domestic abuse is a journey, and emotional support is just as vital as practical assistance. At The Angels Foundation UK, our Counselling & Therapy Services provide survivors with a safe space to process trauma, rebuild confidence, and develop healthy relationships.
Many survivors struggle with anxiety, low self-esteem, and depression after leaving an abusive situation. Our one-on-one counselling sessions help survivors:
Domestic abuse affects entire families, especially children. Our therapy services help young survivors:
By providing specialist support, we help families heal together and create a future free from fear.
We understand how difficult it can be to talk about abuse. Our trauma-informed male and female counsellors provide compassionate, judgment-free support, empowering female and male survivors to take control of their healing. If you or someone you know needs support, get in touch today.
All therapy is delivered by practitioners who are either registered members of the BACP and/or the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), or Level 4 counselling students working towards professional registration. All student practitioners are closely supervised by two fully qualified therapists, ensuring safe, ethical, and high-quality clinical practice at all times.

This service is designed for survivors of domestic abuse who are facing financial hardship.
If you are struggling financially and feel unable to contribute, please still reach out. We will always do our best to ensure no survivor is left without support wherever possible.
From January 2026, The Angels Foundation UK will be introducing charges for our specialist domestic abuse counselling and therapy services.
These changes will help us continue providing safe, professional therapeutic support to survivors while ensuring our services remain sustainable and accessible.
This service is designed for survivors who are ready to explore the lasting impact domestic abuse has had on their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
It is particularly supportive for those navigating deeper or more complex experiences, including long-term trauma, complex PTSD, or relational and personality-based patterns shaped by abuse.
Domestic abuse is not only physical, it is deeply psychological. While leaving an abusive situation is a vital step, the emotional and nervous-system effects often remain long after. Healing takes time, care, and the right kind of support. Our role is to offer a steady, trauma-informed space where this work can unfold safely and at your own pace.
You don’t have to carry this alone. We are here to support you throughout your healing journey.
Demand for our specialist domestic abuse counselling has grown significantly, and we can no longer meet this level of need through free therapy alone.
To continue providing safe, high-quality support, we need to employ more qualified therapists and sustain the service responsibly.
Introducing low-cost fees helps ensure our counselling remains available, values the therapeutic work being undertaken, and allows all income to be reinvested directly into supporting more survivors within our local community.
Our commitment to accessible, compassionate support remains at the heart of everything we do.

We offer a concessionary therapy rate for professional and statutory organisations referring clients with complex mental health needs arising from domestic abuse. This pathway is designed to provide timely, specialist therapeutic support where standard services may no longer be sufficient.
This service is particularly appropriate for clients who require structured therapy to support recovery, stabilisation, and a return to work, or who have exhausted NHS Talking Therapies and need further intervention as part of their ongoing care plan.
Referrals are welcomed from:

To continue providing high-quality, specialist domestic abuse counselling, we must ensure our services are sustainable.
The level of need now requires a larger team of qualified, experienced therapists who can offer consistent, ethical, and trauma-informed care.
Introducing low-cost charges allows us to meet this demand responsibly, without compromising the quality or safety of the support we provide.
We also recognise that investing, even modestly, in therapy can support a survivor’s sense of worth, agency, and commitment to their healing journey.
This approach reflects the value of the work being undertaken and honours the courage it takes to engage in therapy.
Importantly, every contribution made towards counselling is reinvested directly into our services.
This income enables us to:
By introducing low-cost fees, we are strengthening our ability to support survivors not just today, but for years to come.
We remain deeply committed to accessibility, compassion, and dignity, and we will continue to work with individuals and partner organisations to ensure support remains available for those who need it most.
