We provide immediate assistance to families who have fled domestic abuse. You would think that the challenges facing families would end once they leave their abuser, but unfortunately, they don’t.
98% of social housing allocated to survivors of domestic abuse have no flooring, no white goods, no furniture
95% of domestic abuse survivors have experienced financial abuse, with no funds to provide basic household items
60% of domestic abuse survivors experience mental health issues due to the trauma of domestic abuse.
Our 'Back to Life Support Project' ensures families who have fled abuse do not live in furniture poverty. We provide the very basics, as recommended by End Furniture Poverty.
Our aim is to bring hope, helping families as they rebuild their lives independently, free of abuse, by enabling them to set up a comfortable and safe home to start again from.
Not having the basic items they need to look after and take care of their family, is a significant contributor to why families feel they have no other choice, but to return to an abusive perpetrator.
Many survivors flee with nothing and move into empty homes. We provide essential furniture, flooring, and appliances to create a safe and comfortable living space, reducing the risk of returning to an abusive situation.
We offer free, trauma-informed counselling to help survivors heal, rebuild confidence, and develop healthy relationships. Children affected by abuse can also access therapy to support their recovery and break the cycle of abuse.
Social isolation is a major challenge for survivors. Our monthly walk-and-talk sessions provide a supportive space for all women to connect, share experiences, and improve mental well-being.
We guide survivors to additional support, including legal aid, financial assistance, housing support, and mental health services, ensuring they receive the help they need.
